One May Day

Food for the soul!

Liz and I took a socially distanced walk together with Brindley and Ted. We were completely bowled over by the spectacular countryside and the bright, brand new, verdant May foliage. The colours of greens that you only witness at this special time in Spring and for such a short time too. Heralding the start of warmer weather… the summer and the promise of better things to come.

Luckily I took a camera with me on this walk so I was able to capture to some extent the perfect May day we had been so lucky to share.

The walk we took was an 8 km walk which started and finished at the Great Western Pub in Aynho. As and when we rejoin the real world, and the pub is open then this will be a perfect place to quench our thirst at the end of a spectacular stroll!

A cliche perhaps but its days like these that bring to mind a famous piece of poetry!

  1. Witnessing the coming of Spring does seem exceptionally magical this year. In London the sound of birdsong has been extraordinary.

    1. Yes the birds have got a lot to say this year – or maybe they always have but we couldn’t hear them before. ?
